"Ten 10 Best Recent Abstract Paintings by Nonobjective Artists."

My painting 'Solace' was recently selected for the article "Ten 10 Best Recent Abstract Paintings by Nonobjective Artists." by Arts writer, Daniel Ferris. You can read the article by clicking this link, 'It's Only Art?'

Daniel's well written and informative articles on 'all things art' are extremely interesting, so stop by and have a read!

BRONZE MEDAL DIPLOMA

After exhibiting in Paris last October I was nominated by a French delegate from the 'Societe of Arts, Sciences & Lettres, Paris' to be considered for an award.

A few weeks ago I received notification that I am to be awarded a 'Bronze Medal Diploma' acknowledging my work  as a visual artist over the past decade!

This is a great honour! The Society takes into account the whole career and works of the artist, scientist or writer, and rewards them for their many years of often unrecognized achievements.

The award ceremony will be held in Paris on 16 June, 2012. Unfortunately, I will not be able to attend as it is during my major exhibition in Sydney. I have received the medal which is very beautiful and my friend Ann, who lives in Paris, will collect the Diploma on my behalf.

MIXED MEDIA 1 WORKSHOP with Olivia Alexander & Faith Cunningham

WHEN: Postponed until 2013   10am to 3.30-4pm

WHERE; 'The Old Court House', Wollongong NSW

Our July workshop was a great success, below are a few comments from students;

"Thank you and Faith once again for the workshop and taking time to pass on your knowledge. I would recommend the mixed media workshop to anyone who has a passion for creative art. I learnt so much in 2 days, the information given was just the right amount and not to much. I only wish the weekend could have been longer, as I was enjoying myself so much. The workshop has opened my eyes to new possibility's and has my creative mind working overtime. (Which is a wonderful thing)
Thank you once again. I look forward to attending more of your's and Faith's workshops in the future.
Forever grateful,"
Paola

"Thank you so much for your email & notes. Before I say anything I want to thank you most sincerely for a great weekend - I'm still reeling from the impact & I love every moment of it.
I have to say that I was totally gobsmacked at the amount that you got through and the fact that
you were so well organized.
Olivia your (Faith too of course) workshop was like a breath of fresh air. I have no doubts that it will be a new begining for me. I must say that I find your paintings inspiring -
Thank You very much. It's given me a new lease of life.
Many Thanks & Best wishes to you both."

PARIS UPDATE!

My time in Paris was wonderful! I had two artworks in the Salon d'Automne exhibition which was held in  temporary exhibition halls along the Champs Elysees.

One of my works was purchased by a buyer from the UK.

The quality of works displayed was outstanding with artists from France, Japan, China, Middle East and little, old me, who was the only Aussie!
